- "Modeling Civility: How Public Relations Professionals Can Restore Quality, Integrity and Inclusiveness to Civil Discourse" was presented to the Public Relations Society of America to raise awareness about the societal impact of incivility. The White Paper is comprised of research and proposes solutions to addressing the challenges to foster better civil discourse.

Don't Hate - Debate (And Vote)!
- “Don’t Hate – Debate (And Vote)!” was an all-day teach-in event held via Zoom Friday, Oct. 23. Stephanie Smith, an assistant professor in Kent State’s School of Media and Journalism, and Paul Haridakis, Ph.D., professor and interim director of the School of Communication Studies, created the event to educate students and first-time voters before they went to the polls Nov. 3. Topics explored elections, political and social polarization and civil discourse. Watch the teach-in presentations here.
